Jigsaw
A jigsaw is a strategy that helps students learn about several related topics.

Procedure:

1. Determine the number of topics you would like students to study. Divide the group by this number.

2. Assign one topic to each group. Have the students read about it. They may do this individually or as a group.  Students should discuss the issues and decide how best to present the important information to the other students.

3. Re-group by having one person from each group join a new group. In this step, each new group will have one person from each group. (If there were five students in each group, there will now be five new groups, each with a representative from each group.)

4. Teach and learn about all of the cases. Representatives from the original study group will present the important information about their topic to their new groups and will learn about the other topics. Compare topics and draw some conclusions.
